Space Mission: Planet Choccy

Posted Thu, 02/12/2015 - 17:32

Class 3 were sent on a mission to planet Choccy! They had to collect, investigate and identify rock samples from a strange new planet. They drew the rocks carefully and then used the rock properties chart to help them identify which type of rock it was.

If the rock sample was lumpy and contained pebbles or fossils = sedimentary rock.

If the rock sample had crystals or air holes = igneous rock.

If the rock sample looked like it was in layers = metamorphic rock.

Mission controller Miss Kerridge was very interested in their findings and felt they deserved a choccy reward!
