Learning Today for Tomorrow

Book Week

This week have been learning about lots of different things to do with books!

At the beginning of the week we made Reading Rivers. These show our favourite books from over the years: we wrote the age we were when we read them, why they are important to us, and illustrated the rivers by drawing the front covers or our favourite characters. Come and see them in the classroom!

We loved listening to the story teller John Harris, he made us jump and laugh in equal measure.

We are writing to our favourite authors and researched them to find out the best questions to ask them. Did you know that Stephen Fry is man of many talents? Well Richard found out that he is!

We also had to ‘Stop and read!’ this meant we dropped everything and dived into our books, even Miss Morris did!

Finally, we have learnt how to become an author by developing our ‘authorial voice’. This means using your imagination to think up stories. We invented our own book covers and wrote the blurb to test our skills of writing for an audience of our age group.

Please do pop in to see them in our book corner!
